What Travel Budget Buddy is

Travel Budget Buddy is a travel budgeting and planning tool. You choose destinations and nights, enter or adjust spending amounts, and we do the maths so you can see whether your trip fits the money you have.

Destination costs are estimates

Every figure we suggest — daily accommodation, food, local transport, activities, other costs, guide ranges and totals — is a researched starting estimate, not a price. You can change any of them, and you should. How Buddy estimates travel costs explains where the figures come from.

Real prices vary

Actual travel prices change with season, city, route, availability, how far ahead you book and how you like to travel. Exchange rates change too. Amounts are held in pounds and choosing another currency only changes the symbol shown — no conversion is applied. Please verify significant costs, such as flights, insurance and visas, directly with the provider before booking.

No guarantee, and not financial advice

We can't guarantee that a trip can be completed for the amount the planner calculates. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax, insurance, legal or travel advice, and we're not regulated financial advisers. You remain responsible for your own travel, booking, budgeting and spending decisions.

Buddy and third parties

Buddy produces general guidance automatically using an AI model and may be incomplete or wrong; treat its answers as a starting point for your own research. We don't verify or endorse third-party content, prices, links or services, and where you use another company's service — an airline, booking site, Google sign-in or similar — their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Your account

Planning is free without an account. If you register to save, download or print a trip, keep your password to yourself and use the site lawfully. You can delete your saved trip or your whole account at any time on the account and data page. We may suspend accounts that are misused.

Liability

The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, cost or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on any figure, guide or answer shown here. We may change, improve or withdraw parts of the site, or these terms, at any time.
